Reclaiming Girlhood examines girlhood through the lens of feminism and empowerment, reclaiming girly aesthetics as symbols of strength and identity. Girly aesthetics are explored through a visual archive of digital and analog images, polaroid scans, and camcorder stills. Supported by surveys and research, the book reframes these aesthetics as tools of self-expression, empowerment and play.
